Your stock sheet, metafield-ready in one paste.
For print-on-demand phone-cover stores on Shopify. Modelist takes the Excel or Google Sheet you already track models and stock in, and turns it into the list the variation add-on reads. Copy it, paste it into the product's metafield, and the store is up to date.
The sheet
Open the spreadsheet, paste the cells, or pull it straight from Google Sheets. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. It is all read inside this browser.
Drop the .xlsx or .csv here
In Google Sheets: File › Download › Microsoft Excel (.xlsx).

What changed
The list for your metafield
How it works
From the sheet you already keep to the store, in three steps.
- 01
Load your stock sheet
Open the Excel file, paste the cells, or give the Google Sheet address: the same sheet you use to track which models you can print for. Each column is a manufacturer, each row a model.
- 02
Check what changed
Modelist compares it with your last saved run: which models joined, which left, and which spellings it tidied. Duplicates and likely typos get flagged before they reach the store.
- 03
Paste into the metafield
Copy the list and paste it into the product's custom metafield in Shopify. The picker on the product page updates with it. No variants to edit one by one.
The variation system
Want the full system in your store?
Shopify cannot show hundreds of phone models as normal variants, and it cannot make the model list depend on the manufacturer. Our theme add-on can. We embed it in your theme code once, add a custom metafield to your products, and the product page gets a two-step picker: manufacturer first, then only that maker's models.
- $100 per store, paid once. The good apps that do this start at $20 a month, every month.
- 500+ manufacturer and model options per product, from a single metafield
- Every order shows the manufacturer and model on each item, so printing and packing go by the order screen
- New phones out? Update the sheet, run it through Modelist, paste. Done in a minute.

Questions
What does Modelist actually produce?
Text formatted for the custom metafield the Modelist theme add-on reads: every manufacturer with its models. Copy it, open the product in Shopify, paste it into the metafield and save. The product page picker updates with it.
What is the theme add-on?
Custom code embedded in your Shopify theme. It lets one product carry 500+ phone-model options with a manufacturer-then-model picker, which Shopify does not support on its own. The options live in a custom metafield, so there are no variants to manage. It costs $100 per store, paid once; the good apps that do the same start at $20 a month.
Is my sheet uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read inside this browser and nothing is sent to a server. Saved runs stay in this browser's storage. When you use a Google Sheet address, the browser fetches it from Google directly.
What does it compare against?
By default, the last run you saved as your baseline. You can also pick an older saved run, or load a previous list as a .txt or .json file.
Why should I check the removals?
When a model leaves the list, shoppers can no longer pick it in your store. A quick look stops a model you still print for from disappearing by mistake.
What does “tidied” mean?
Modelist fixes capitalisation and spelling with rules you can edit: words that are always in capitals, and exact spellings. A re-spelled name still changes what shoppers see, so the report lists every one.
The Google Sheet will not load. What now?
In Google Sheets use File › Share › Publish to web › CSV and paste that address. Or download the sheet as .xlsx and open the file instead.
Can I move my runs to another computer?
Yes. Use Export runs at the bottom of the page, then Import on the other computer.
Can you build a tool like this for my store?
Yes. If a job in your business is still copied out by hand, message Mohab on WhatsApp and describe it.
