Max ad cost per order calculator
Meta counts every order placed, including the ones cancelled on the confirmation call and the ones refused at the door. This shows the most you can pay per order in Ads Manager and still make money on delivered orders.
It runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves your device or is stored.
Filled in with the numbers you brought from another tool. Check them before you rely on the result.

How the calculator works
- It works per order placed, because that's what Meta counts as a purchase.
- Of every order placed, the confirmation rate sets how many ship, and the delivery rate sets how many of those get paid.
- A delivered order leaves its value, minus the COD fee, product cost, courier fee and packaging. A returned order loses the return fee and packaging.
- Then fixed costs and your target profit come off. What's left per order placed is the most you can pay Meta for that order.
- Divide by the confirmation rate for the cost per confirmed order, and by both rates for the cost per delivered order. ROAS is order value ÷ that maximum.
Where to find each number
- Cost per purchase and ROAS
- Ads Manager, Campaigns tab: the "Cost per purchase" and "Purchase ROAS" columns for the same date range.
- Average order value
- What customers paid on delivered orders, shipping included, divided by the number of those orders.
- Confirmation rate
- Orders shipped ÷ orders placed in your store for the month (Shopify, WooCommerce, EasyOrders).
- Delivery rate
- Delivered ÷ shipped on your courier statement for the same month.
- Courier, return and COD fees
- Your courier's price list or monthly statement.
- Dollar rate
- The EGP your bank took for one dollar of ad spend, card fees included. Your card statement shows it.
Worked example
The sample store sells at 370 EGP with 123 EGP product cost. It ships 77.5% of the orders placed and 90.5% of those are delivered. With courier, COD and fixed costs left at 0, it can pay up to 173 EGP per order placed in Ads Manager. That's 224 EGP per confirmed order and 247 EGP per delivered one, or a ROAS of 2.14. At its current 73 EGP per order, each delivered order leaves 143 EGP, and it breaks even at a 38.1% delivery rate. Add your courier fee and the limit drops with it.
Common questions
Is the calculator free? Do I need to sign up?
It's free, with no sign-up and no email. Open the page and type your numbers. The result updates as you type.
Are my numbers saved or sent anywhere?
No. The maths runs in your browser, so nothing you type is stored or sent. The PDF report is made on your device too.
Why is the max cost per order placed lower than my profit per order?
With cash on delivery you pay for ads on every order placed, but you're paid only for the ones delivered. A cancelled order costs you the ad. A returned order costs the ad and the courier fee.
Which number goes into Ads Manager?
The max ad cost per order placed. Meta's "Cost per purchase" counts orders placed, so compare it with this number, or use it as the cost cap in your campaign.
What ROAS do I need to break even?
Order value divided by the max ad cost per order placed. It's higher than you'd expect, because Meta's ROAS counts the value of orders that are later cancelled or returned.
I pay Meta in dollars. Does that change anything?
Enter the rate you actually pay per dollar, card fees included. The calculator reads your current ad cost in dollars and shows the maximum in dollars too.
Does it work for stores in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the rest of the Gulf?
Yes. The fields say EGP, but the maths doesn't depend on the currency. Enter every amount in one currency, SAR or AED for example, and read the results in that currency.
